Jenpa Hut

Jenpa Hut

After the Bodhi House, Jenpa (generosity) hut was the first hut to be built in 1978. Several years later an extension was added, giving it two rooms and a small deck. For many years it served as the manager’s hut, and recently it has become part of the accommodation available for those staying at the monastery. Facing north in a sunny location, it is only a couple of minute's walk from the Bodhi House.

Jenpa hut is the only accommodation hut available at the monastery that has electricity. It is therefore suitable for those wanting better facilities and more privacy. It sleeps four, with one double bed and two single beds in adjoining rooms. It is ideally suited for family use. There are no hygiene facilities attached to the hut, which are located in the Bodhi House. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. A wood burning stove can be used in winter for heating, firewood is provided.

Due to the fire risk no candles are permitted to be used. Please read the fire and hut saftey sheet inside the hut and note the position of the fire extinguisher.
