Eight Stupas  or Chortens commissioned by various Buddhist students,  and built by volunteers in the traditional style, symbolize the mind of the Buddha and  are dedicated to peace and harmony throughout the world.   Since the first stupa was completed at Karma Choeling others have been built in New Zealand, Australia, by our master builder, William Hursthouse, who has also set up where you can find explanations of the meaning of stupas, as well as information about their construction and pictures from all over the  world.

The Great Retaining Wall Cookbook project  The retaining walls supporting the stupas need replacing - at a cost of over $10,000. To finance this project we are selling a cookbook of favourite vegetarian recipes from the monastery kitchen at $25 per copy with a discount for multiple purchases. Click here for more information.
